In this virtual tasting event, we will travel to Italy to the cradle of Italian winemaking, Tuscany.
Located in central Italy along the Tyrrhenian coast, Tuscany is home to some of the world's most notable wine regions, including Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
The tasting will consist of 3 wines and an Organic extra virgin olive oil. All led by a 10th generation member of the royal family that owns the winery.
AN HISTORIC TUSCAN WINERY
Tenuta di Lilliano is nestled in the picturesque hills of Tuscany, the home of Chianti and Chianti Classico. The owners, the Ruspoli family, trace their roots back to the 17th century.
Princess Eleonora Ruspoli Berlingieri was the first to recognize the winemaking potential of their Tuscan estate and began bottling Lilliano’s wines in 1958.
And yes, that crest on the bottle is the real deal; it bears the coats of arms of the Ruspoli and Berlingieri families.
Alessandro Ruspoli is a member of the founding family, whose origins can be traced back to Florence Italy.
The House of Ruspoli is one of the great aristocratic families of Italy.
Following World War II, the Italian government officially abolished royal titles — with the exception of the papal nobility of Rome (14 families, among which is the Ruspoli family)
Today Ruspoli family’s members therefore hold the title of ‘Prince of the Holy Roman Empire’.
