Fulkerson used to be a simple farm, growing raspberries & grapes. Then, they took it a step further; they acquired Jensen Juice and began to offer fresh grape juice to home winemakers. Before they knew it, their passion grew into the Fulkerson Winery of today. They believe progression is natural, and they are proud to have become the "winemakers’ winery".
On Seneca Lake
Named the top wine region in the USA Today 2018 10 Best Reader’s Choice national poll, the Finger Lakes wine region is host to more than 120 wineries and is the biggest producer of wine in New York State. The scenic Keuka, Seneca, Canandaigua, and Cayuga lakes are the central focus of the region and play a major role in the area’s renown cool climate wines, especially its varietal whites like Riesling and Gewurztraminer. The region is also famed for its red varieties such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, and other popular white varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.
Fulkerson Winery is one of the oldest wineries on Seneca Lake. Their history is extensive, their wine list diverse and award-winning. From classics like Riesling and Merlot to unique varietals such as Dornfelder and Albarino, the winery has something to please every palate.
Grapes had been grown on the Fulkerson farm since the 1830s, but it wasn’t until a blight wiped out the raspberry industry in the 1960s that Roger Fulkerson began expanding grape plantings. Today the winery makes over 12,000 cases of wines every year.
