You’ve seen Sideways and Bottle Shock, so you know that California produces some great wine. But how does California wine stack up vs. old world peers? Which do you prefer?

In this class, we’ll taste three pairs of wines, exploring the similarities and differences of the same varietal grown in the Golden State vs. in the Old World.

We’ll also discuss the structural components of wine, the characteristics typical of different varietals, and some of the more important factors affecting a wine’s taste, including geography, climate, and various decisions made in the vineyard and winery.

Cheese and charcuterie will be served.
