Event Spotlight: North Fork Crush
The North Fork of Long Island is that skinny little strip of land right at the end of the island where the it splits of into a …fork! In recent years, the area has made a true name for itself as one of America’s most diverse wine regions, due to the cool maritime climate of the region.
It’s our goal to celebrate and promote the wines of New York and we couldn’t do that properly without giving appropriate homage to all of our great state’s wine regions. Similar to our Brooklyn Crush event is the North Fork Crush Wine & Artisanal Food Festival– a fantastic day of food, music, and of course wine, from the North Fork of Long Island.
This year’s event is being hosted at Jamesport Vineyards, a longtime partner of New York Wine Events and one of the North Fork’s oldest Vineyards with over 60 acres of land. Ron Goerler, Jr., owner and winemaker at Jamesport, is just one of the featured winemakers that guests of the event will have the chance to meet and chat with.
What makes North Fork Crush such a great event? Just ask Julia Maimone-Medwick, the director of Sales and Marketing for one of our featured wineries, Maiden + Liberty: “The uniqueness of North Fork Crush is that it takes place at a working vineyard, so you are right in the heart of it. Something very different that venues in the city.”
With over 100 wines to sample from and dozens of owners, viticulturists, and winemakers from the North Fork and beyond, wine fanatics can hang out with the rockstars of the New York wine community and learn the ins and outs of wine production, as well as the history and foundation of these incredible wineries.
And then, of course, there’s the food! Because you can’t have a good party without some tasty bites. We’ll be featuring delicious treats from around New York as well as other parts of our great country to enjoy and nibble on (and to soak up some of that wine.)
If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, now is the time to do so! Join us on June 23rd at Jamesport Vineyards (we’ll even give you a ride if you need one) and experience the beauty of the North Fork of Long Island!
