A Recap of My Wine Tasting on the Hudson River with Classic Harbor Line
As an employee of New York Wine Events, occasionally I am invited to wine tasting events in and around New York City. I was lucky enough to be invited aboard Classic Harbor Line’s Yacht Manhattan for a wine and cheese tasting while cruising the Hudson Harbor. The tasting was part of Classic Harbor Line’s Wine & Cheese Pairing Classes event series.
For its Wine & Cheese Pairing classes, Classic Harbor Line has prepared tastings that focus on different regions while exploring the grapes, styles, soils, viticulture, and tasting techniques of the regions. These interactive tastings are conducted by wine professional Wendy Crispell in a fun, relaxed atmosphere aboard the beautiful yacht Manhattan or Manhattan II. This season’s tastings feature a number of different artisan & farmstead cheeses selected each week to complement the wines of the day. In addition, a selection of dried fruit, nuts and breads will be served to highlight each pairing.
After getting on board, the 30 or so ticket buyers were assigned a table to sit at. The interior of the Yacht was beautiful, it had a fancy, sophisticated, and comforting vibe. Each attendee was provided a table setting and a guide to the topic of the cruise, Irish Wine and Cheese. Wendy stood up and gave a nice introduction, and fruit and nut plates were provided for each table. The ticket buyers mingled, took in the views from their tables, and walked outside to the front deck to experience the unbeatable views.
If you are in New York City, as a tourist or resident, you owe it to yourself to take a Classic Harbor Line cruise. Of course it’s the perfect date night experience, but it also is a great way to escape the city without actually leaving the city. The views are incredible, the boat is one-0f-a-kind, and the food and drink is delicious. You can buy tickets here, and tell them New York Wine Events sent you!
