There’s an incredible number of food and drink events happening in New York City every weekend, (it is the center of the universe after all) and with the holidays rapidly approaching, let’s take a look at the most interesting seasonal offerings of the weekend of December 12th.

Saveur has created a one-day-only fête to get you into the holiday spirit at this year’s SAVEUR Holiday Social. Find the perfect present for food-obsessed friends and family while enjoying endless seasonal dishes and drinks. Whatever bars accept Good Whiskey Passports are accepted
BoozeMenus and Burger Conquest to present The NYC Good Whiskey Passport, which will act as a fundraiser for City Harvest & United States Bartender’s (USBG) Guild National Charity Foundation. By purchasing a passport you’ll get one whiskey cocktail or a neat pour at 20+ bars and restaurants all over New York City. You can use them any day, any time from December 13th through February 13th, 2015. When purchasing a NYC Good Whiskey Passport, choose the location where you would like to pick up your passport. Passports are available for pick up from December 13th through January 13th, 2015.

Join Italian Wine Merchants for an exploration of the star wines of northern Italy, pouring Amarone, Valpolicella, and Recioto from Nicolis and Begali–even more, these wines will be highlighted by sampling bottles crafted by the Vento’s Giuseppe Quintarelli, Friuli’s Josko Gravner and Brda’s Movia, giving a panoramic understanding of this region. Led by Certified Wine Educator Robin Kelley O’Connor and accompanied by regional meats and cheeses, this special tasting gives wine-lovers an opportunity to experience a range of wines from Italy’s North, all while coming to a fuller understanding of this region’s traditions, terroirs and tasting profiles.
